Joseph E. Meissner, Esq., has a dual background in accounting and law. He draws on his experience to provide counsel on business and real estate transactions and estate planning.
During his time as an accountant with several large corporations, Joseph worked on numerous accounting projects that required varying degrees of input from legal counsel. Working on matters that required both accounting proficiency and legal analysis inspired Joseph to attend law school.
During law school, Joseph began developing his interdisciplinary skill set as an extern with the Nevada Attorney General’s Office, Division of Business and Taxation. There, he worked closely with the Nevada Department of Taxation, where he briefed matters to be heard before Southern Nevada’s administrative law judge, as well as the Nevada Tax Commission. He also drafted internal guidance for assessors at the Nevada Department of Taxation, and drafted opinions to taxpayers. Joseph’s experience, and the skill set that he continually develops, provides him with a level of comfort and competency where law and accounting intersect.
A native of Southern California, Joseph earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Nevada, Boyd School of Law. At Boyd, Joseph served as a Notes Editor on the Nevada Law Journal. He earned his Bachelor of Science from California State University, Long Beach.
